R. Nolan officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pollock. Mrs. Austin died Sunday, September 12, 1976 at LaSalle General Hospital in Jena after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Austin died Sunday, November 27, 1983 at Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria after a long illness. He was a native of Winn Parish and a former employee of the Carey Salt Mine. He was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church, where he served as custodian for 18 years. Survivors include his wife, Eunice R. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Atlanta Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ray Teal officiating. Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include one son, Nathan Avant, Jr., of Hathaway; five brothers, Allen Brady and Roy Brady, both of Montgomery, Ranel Brady of Atlanta, Lavelle Brady of Gibsland, and Alon Brady of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Avant of Atlanta and Mrs. J.
