Canerday, 58 year old Calvin resident, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Church. Conducting the rites were Rev. E. D. Smith and Rev. Jewel Canerday. Mr. Canerday died Monday in a Winnfield hospital. He was born J____, 19___ at Calvin. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Canerday of Calvin; three sons, Hesley D. Canerday of Natchitoches, J. D. Canerday of Natchitoches, and Huey P. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at Dodson Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conducted by the Rev. C. J. White, pastor, assisted by Rev. Davies Date: 20 June 2004 Source: Winnfield News-American February 5, 1937 Young Log Cutter Instantly Killed By Falling Limb Gus Carroll, Age 22, Hit By Falling Limb While Sawing Logs Gus Carroll, age 22, was instantly killed while sawing logs at the logging operations of the Tremont Lumber Company near Murray Junction Tuesday afternoon about three thirty o'clock. According to the best available information Mr. Carroll was struck on the back of the neck by a falling limb that almost severed his head from his body ausing instant death. The body was taken to Urania to the home of his brother, W. O. Carroll, from where funeral services were held and interment made in the Pine Hill Cemetery Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock. Rev. Thompson Doty conducted the rites. The Walsh Funeral Directors had charge of the funeral services. Young Carroll is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carroll, Harrisonburg, one sister, two brothers, one of whom is W. O. Carroll of Urania. ===== Submitter: Greggory E. Carroll, 62, of Rt. 2, Winnfield, were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of southern Funeral Home here with the Revs. James Gorham and W. F. Harrell officiating. Burial was in Goldonna Cemetery at Goldonna. Mr. Carroll died Sunday, February 9, 1975 at his residence after a short \ illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Villie Carroll of Winnfield; one son, Don Howard Carroll of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Smith of Alexandria and Mrs. Nita Veillon of Ville Platte; three brothers, R. Mrs. Carter died Wednesday, July 4, 1979 at Winnfield General Hospital. Survivors include one son, Frank Barnett of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Dovie Hudson of Trout, Miss Essie Belle Knight of Alexandria, and Mrs. Dempsey Bedgood of Goldonna; and three grandchildren. ======
