Riser received news this week of the death of their nephew, George W. Coates, of Los Angeles, Calif., who was killed in an automobile accident. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning. Mr. Coates is the son of Mrs. Josie Magee Coates and the late D. B. Coates, former editor of the Southern Sentinel published here. He is survived by his wife and one child and his mother, five sisters, and three brothers. His mother, Mrs. Josie Coates, is a sister of Mrs. Riser and the deceased was born in Winnfield during the time his father was engaged in the newspaper business here. ===== Submitter: Greggory E. Zion Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home's Marshall Street Chapel for Mrs. I. W. Collier, 83, of Shreveport, who died Saturday, February 14, 1976 at her daughter's Bossier City residence after a long illness. A native of Winn Parish, Mrs. Collier had lived in Shreveport for 21 years and was a member of the Bible Missionary Church. Officiating were the Rev. Steve Robinson, pastor of Bible Missionary Church, and the Rev. D. M. Duke, pastor of Huntington Church of Nazarene. The Rev. Hoff Of Bible Missionary Church was the moderator. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Winn Parish. Survivors include her husband, I. W. Collier of Shreveport, a daughter, Mrs. W. B. W. Collins who live on route 2, died on Monday morning at two-thirty o'clock following a short illness. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. C. Wier, pastor of First Methodist Church assisted by Rev. J. A. McMurry and interment was made in the Union Cemetery Monday afternoon. Additional Comments: He is survived by two brothers, Henry Wallace and Malcolm Lincoln, and one sister, Katherine Eugenia. His paternal grandparents are Dr. and Mrs. A.P. Colvin, 69, prominent retired farmer of Dubach, died Saturday night in a Ruston hospital after a short illness. Funeral services were held in Fellowship Baptist Church at Dubach at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. D. A. Doughty, the Rev. James Nickoles, and the Rev. Floyd Durham officiating. Burial was in the Fellowship Cemetery. Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. O. O. House of Winnfield; three sons, A. B. and Bobby Colvin of Dubach and Baker A. Colvin of El Dorado, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Pines of Shreveport and Mrs. Paul Alexander of El Dorado; three brothers, C. E., R. E., and W. E. Colvin of Dubach; and ten grandchildren. ======
