Davies Source: Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Date: 20 Jun 2004 January 19, 1961 Last Rites For Mrs. J. R. Hall Held Here January 17 Mrs. Maggie Dickerson Hall, 86, of 420 W. Lafayette Street, Winnfield, died in a Columbia, La., clinic at 8:30 a.m. January 16, after a long illness. She had been residing in Columbia for the past several months but had spent her entire life in Winn Parish up until that time. She was the widow of the late J. R. Hall, well known business man in this area. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel, Winnfield, with Rev. R. H. Staples officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were James Russell, Clyde DeLoach, Dennis Shell, Dudley Shell, Burton Williams, and Newton Forrest. Mrs. Hall was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Dickerson, pioneer residents of Winn Parish. She is survived by two sons, Willie Verne Hall and John Robert Hall, both of Winnfield; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. B. W. Davies Date: 20 June 2004 Source: Winnfield News-American March 4, 1938 Former Winnfield Resident Dies In Hospital Tuesday Mrs. Wylma Riser Hall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Riser of Winnfield, but now of Shreveport, died in a Shreveport hospital Tuesday night following a brief illness. Mrs. Hall was born at Dodson and later lived in Winnfield until she was about thirteen years of age when her parents moved to Shreveport. She is the niece of Mrs. Ethleen Riser, editor of the Winn Parish Enterprise. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at two thirty o'clock conducted by the Rev. J. F. Kane, pastor of the South Side Baptist Church of Shreveport. Interment was in the Forest Park Cemetery. Surviving Mrs. Hall are her two children, Warren and Mais Hall, parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Riser, two sisters, Mrs. S. M. Kesling and Mrs. J. E. Shaughnessy, all of Shreveport. =====
