Davies, 120 Ted Price Lane, Winnfield, LA 71483 Date: 24 Nov 2004 Source: Winn Parish Enterprise News-American From: March 21, 1884 Southern Sentinel A little son of William Jones, colored, who lives about two miles from town, burned to death on Friday last. The old folks had gone to a branch some distance from the house, leaving a fire in the yard, and it is supposed that the little fellow was trying to roast some corn, when his clothing took fire, burning him so severely that he died the same night of his injuries. His little brother, who was near, threw water on him, and extinguished the flames, not until he was so badly burned as to result in death. =====
