Lasyone, who died at his home at Verda were held Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock at the Iatt Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Lasyone was a member of the Baptist Church and is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Amelia Sharbano of Port Arthur, Texas, Mrs. Bob Corbett, Mrs. C. H. James, Verda, four sons, J. W. Lasyone of Verda Dies of Heart Attack 23rd A heart attack proved fatal to Reuben A. Lasyone, age 59, brother to R. J. Lasyone of Winnfield, Saturday, Aplril 23 at his home at Verda. Mr. Lasyone is a native of Winn Parish, born January 5, 1879 near Atlanta. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Verda where he was engaged in farming. Funeral services were held Sunday at Verda with the Rev. A. M. Holland officiating and interment was made in the church cemetery there. The deceased is survived by his wife, the former Miss Theo Cupp, one daughter, Mrs. Eula Simons, two brothers, R. J. and R. R. Lasyone of Winnfield; three half sisters, Mrs. J. M. Davies Date: 20 June 2004 Source: Winn News American May 19, 1939 Infantile Paralysis Fatal to Lashley Infant of Verda Loriane Lashley, the year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Lashley of Verda, died in a Shreveport hospital last Friday following an attack of infantile paralysis. Funeral services were held at the Liberty Church near Verda by the Rev. Tommy Arrington and interment made in the church cemetery. She is survived by her parents, one brother, E. H. Lashley, and a number of other relatives. February 17, 1939 Funeral Services for R. R. Lasyone at Verda Sunday Funeral services for Robert R. Lasyone, age 54, who died at a hospital at Olla on Saturday were held on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at Verda. Services were conducted by Rev. H. J. Harlan and interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Walsh Funeral directors of Winnfield. Mr. Lasyone was born in Grant Parish near Hebron. He joined the church of his faith in 1918 and remained a faithful member until his death. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Emma Lasyone, four daughters, Misses Ethyl, Odelle, Cecil, and Marge Lasyone of Atlanta, one brother, R. J. Lasyone of Winnfield, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Keith, Mrs. Monroe Lashley, and Mrs. Sydney Lashley of Verda. ======
