Mother of Former Resident Dies in Baton Rouge

Funeral rites for Mrs. Anne Billingsley Hatcher, 75, longtime resident of
Grand Cane, and a frequent visitor to Winnfield years ago, were held at 3 p.m. 
Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Smyrna Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. McNair Smith, pastor of the Fairfield Avenue Presbyterian Church of
Shreveport officiated.  Burial was in Smyrna Cemetery.

Mrs. Hatcher died in a Baton Rouge hospital at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Albert Smith, Jr., and one son, Marvin
Hatcher of Baton Rouge; a sister, Mrs. Bessie McMichael of Grand Cane and one
granddaughter, Anne Smith of Baton Rouge.

Judge and Mrs. Harwell Allen and Mrs. A. L. Smith, Sr. of Winnfield attended
the funeral.
