All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 28, 1955 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Elvin Ray Horn, 30, Native of Winn, Dies In Alabama Funeral services for Elvin Ray Horn, 30, of 1329 Creel Street, Birmingham, Ala., who died Thursday, July 21, in the Veterans Hospital, after a 10 month illness, were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Tenth Avenue Church with the Rev. Lelan Heriford officiating. Burial was in Walhalla Cemetery. A native of Montgomery, Rt. 1, Winn Parish, Mr. Horn had made his home in Birmingham for three years. He was employed by Ingall's Iron Works. Hje was a veteran of World War II, serving eight years in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are his wife, Bernice Horn, a daughter, Valerie Rae Horn; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Horn of Natchez, La., formerly of Winn Parish; a brother, Joe of Odessa, Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. Percy Roberts, jr. of Winnfield and Edna Frances Horn of Kansas City, Mo.
