All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 3, 1938 Winn Parish Enterprise James Thomas Haigler, Age 67, Called By Death Funeral Services Held At Gansville Baptist Church On January 29, 1938 our Lord saw fit to send His Angel Chariot and take home to Him a beloved citizen of the Cypress Creek community, James Thomas Haigler. Mr. Haigler was born in Alabama and came to Louisiana with his parents at an early age. He united with the Baptist Church when a young man and was a devout church goer throughout life. His character was above reproach and he was always mindful of the needs of others. On November 3, 1893 he was married to Miss Nellie Wasson, daughter of John Mills and Sarah Holmes Wasson, pioneer settlers of Winn Parish, and to this union were born nine children, all of whom survive. They are Miss Ruth Haigler of Oklahoma City, Harry A. Haigler of Minden, Hubert Harold and Paul Haigler of Shreveport, Glenn Haigler of Houston, Texas, Billy Haigler of Wesleco, Texas, Mrs. Lucille H. Beasley of Crossett, Ark., and Mrs. Winnie H. Brown of Jonesboro. Eleven grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted at the Gansville Baptist Church Monday morning with Rev. J. D. Kitchingham of Columbia and Rev. W. D. Sherwood of Winnfield in charge. Interment was made in Gansville Cemetery with Edmonds Funeral Home directing.
