T. Haigler, 67, of Cypress Creek Dies January 29 Funeral Services Conducted Monday At Gansville Church James Thomas Haigler, age 67, prominent citizen of the Cypress Creek Community, died in a Shreveport hospital, Saturday, January 29, following a lingering illness. Mr. Haigler was born in Alabama in 1871 and came to Louisiana with his parents at an early age. He united with the Baptist Church when a young man and was active in church work throughout his life. On November 3, 1892, he was married to Miss Nellie Wasson, daughter of John Mills and Sarah Holmes Wasson, pioneer settlers of Winn Parish, and to this union were born nine children all of whom survive. They are Miss Ruth Haigler of Oklahoma City, Harry A.Haigler of Minden, Hubert, Harold, and Paul Haigler of Shreveport, Billy Haigler of Wessleco, Texas, Glenn Haigler of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Lucille H. Beasley of Crossett, Arkansas, and Mrs. Winnie H. Brown of Jonesboro. Eleven grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted at the Gansville Baptist Church Monday morning with the Rev. J. D. Kitchenham of Columbia and Rev. W. D. Sherwood of Winnfield in charge. Interment was in Gansville Cemetery.
