Hall was returning to Winnfield from the Salt Mine where he had carried a load of lumber from the K. A. Thomas mill where he was employed as a truck driver. In the truck with him was a negro. According to the negro, both he and Hall jumped from the truck about twenty feet from before it hit the train, which was backing over the tracks across the highway. Dr. J. F. Faith, coroner, stated that the truck caused the death of the boy whose body was mangled beyond recognition. He was identified by his poll tax receipt. The train belonged to the Carey Salt Company. Hall is survived by one half-brother, Roland Horn, and his stepfather, Carl Horn, of Campti. He was reared by his stepfather in this parish, following the death of his mother when he was about eight years of age. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Zion near Montgomery Thursday morning at 10 o'clock.
