Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church was in charge. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Thelma was the oldest child and the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hammond. She was a member of the first grade class of the Winnfield High School and the Baptist Sunday School. Besides her parents, she leaves two young brothers, Jimmie and John Luther. Among the out of town relatives and friends attending the last rites here were Mrs. I. J, Williams and children, Loyce, Blair, and Glen Edward Gates of Arp, Texas; W. R. Gates and sons, Ralph, Herman, Harry, Raymond, and James of Alexandria; Mr. and Mrs. John Gates and children of Monroe; Mrs. John Odom and Mrs. Lucille Thomas of Tullos; Cuma and Ted Hammond of Colfax.
