Mrs. Hammons was the widow of the late A. A. Hammons, Winn Parish native, who resided in Dodson for many years. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home in Ruston with the Rev. W. A. Markham officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery of Ruston. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Unah Dunn of Grayson; and three grandsons, Joe Ware of West Monroe, Charles Ware of Annapolis, Md., and James Ware of Columbia, South America; and one granddaughter, Mrs. Olan Walters of Houston, Texas; and 14 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. D. F. Shell of Winnfield, Mrs. Alice Dunn of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Dennis Peters of Pineville and Wayne Peters of Stephens, Ark.
