All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: August 15, 1968 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Mrs. Earl Hamm, Dodson Native, Succumbs Monday Last rites for Mrs. Earl Hamm, 55, of 308 Stewart, Monroe, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Methodist Church, West Monroe, with the Rev. Kenneth McDowell officiating. Burial was in Twin City Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Hamm died at 1:50 a.m. Monday, August 12, 1968 in St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Hamm was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Payne, Sr., of Dodson, and an active member of the First Methodist Church in West Monroe. She was a member of the SCSC and was serving as church librarian at the time of her death. She held life membership in the PTA at Mitchell School and was a member of the LaTerulia Book Club. Survivors include her husband; one son, Stephen Hamm, Camp Springs, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Steve Ragan, Jan Carol Hamm, and Lea Ann Hamm, all of West Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. C. J. Strong, West Monroe, Mrs. L. B. Hemperley, Winnfield, and Mrs. Bernie Colvin, of Ruston; one brother, Rev. J. O. Payne of Hodge; and one grandchild, Rhonda Regan.
