Last Rites Held For Kerry Glenn Hammonds

Kerry Glenn Hammonds, 5 years, 3 months, and 14 days of age, died suddenly at
the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hammonds, 2318 Monroe St.,
Alexandria, Thursday, April 18.  He had been an invalid since birth.  Funeral
services were held at the First Baptist Church, Winnfield, Friday at 2 p.m.,
with the Rev. H. H. McBride and the Rev. Alwin Stokes officiating.  Burial was
in Winnfield Cemetery.

Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hammonds, former residents of
Winnfield; two brothers, Jimmie Ernest and Luther, and one sister, Judith Ann.
He also leaves his grandmother, Mrs. Jane Hammonds of Winnfield, and his
grandfather, W. R. Gates of Alexandria.  He was the nephew of Mrs. I. L.
Barnett, Clyde Hammonds, and the great nephew of Mrs. R. L. Fluitt and Mrs.
Guy McElroy, all of Winnfield.
