Funeral Rites For Mrs. Mary C. Hammons Held

Funeral rites for Mrs. Mary Capps Hammons, 50 year old Winn Parish woman, were
held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Southern Funeral Home.  Burial
was in Zion Cemetery near Georgetown.

Mrs. Hammons died Sunday, May 19, 1968 in Winnfield hospital following a brief
illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish and a member of the
Laurel Heights Baptist Church.

She leaves two sons, Charles Hammons of Minden and James Orville Hammons of
Medford, N. J.; one brother, Jack Capps of San Jose, Calif.; five sisters,
Mrs. Sibil Walsworth of Campti, Mrs. Helen Spears of Winnfield, Mrs. Ellen
Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Lillian Greer of Shreveport, and Mrs.
Margaret Hockaday of Sun Valley, Calif.; one half sister, Mrs. Edith Dickerson
of Winnfield, and two grandchildren.
