Hand, 80, Succumbs; Rites Monday Funeral services or Charles Howard Hand, 80, of the Pleasant Hill Community were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Alson Jeter officiating, assisted by the Rev. Willie Broadway and the Rev. Harrison Cockerham. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. A native of Winn parish, a retired farmer, and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Mr. Hand died Saturday, March 18, 1967 in a Winnfield hospital after a lengthy illness. Survivors are his widow; five sons, Hansford Lee Hand of Tioga, Frederick Cody Hand, David B. Hand, Charles H. Hand, and Eugene Hand, all of Winnfield; four daughters, Mrs. Claudia Taylor of Alexandria, Mrs. Marie Jordan, Mrs. Nadeen Williams, and Mrs. Fay Maloy, all of Winnfield; two brothers, Felix Cody Hand of Winnfield and L. M. Hand of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Blackshear of Rochelle and Mrs. Cora Brown of West Monroe; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dick Jones, Gary Taylor, Danny Treadwell, Roy Jones, Tommy Hand, Rodney Lenard.
