R. Hancock, 83, Succumbs; Rites Thursday Funeral services for Rev. Richard F. Hancock, 83, of Calvin, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Hill Baptist Church near Winnfield, with Fisk Ray and Wilmer Jordan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield. Rev. Hancock died Tuesday night, January 20, 1970 in an Alexandria hospital. He was a native of Catahoula Parish and a retired Baptist minister who had served in several Winn Parish churches. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eva Hancock, of Calvin; two sons, R. R. Hancock of Alexandria, B. R. Hancock of Baytown, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Wallace Ingles of Pineville; seven stepsons, Edward Wilks, John Wilks, James Wilks, all of Columbia, Vernon Wilks of Cullen, Chester Wilks of Monroe, Charles B. Wilks of Little Rock, Ark., Bobby Joe Wilks of Baton Rouge; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jessie Mae Sauce of Cullen and Mrs. Lila Griffen of Winnfield; a sister, Mrs. C. B. Babcock of Pioneer; nine grandchildren, 27 step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and 26 step-grandchildren.
