O. Harrison, 76, of Montgomery, widow of the late William Oswald Harrison, prominent merchant, planter, and lumberman, succumbed to a heart attack on Nov. 23, in a Natchitoches hospital. Mrs. Harrison was a native of Tennessee. She came to Louisiana 50 years ago where she met her husband, who preceded her in death 29 years ago. Mrs. Harrison was a member of the Methodist Church and an active member of the WSCS and Sunday School as long as her health permitted. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. The news of her death was received with deep regret by her wide circle of friends and relatives for with her passing went part of the dignity, charm, and hospitality of the true South. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Malcolm Harrison of Houston, Texas, and W. O. Harrison, Jr. of Montgomery; one daughter, Mrs. O. F. Giddens of Montgomery; one step-son, Mayor Lloyd J. Harrison of Montgomery; three step-daughters, Mrs. M. A. Beason of Stillwater, Okla., Mrs. M. E. Triplett of Lake Washington, Miss., and Mrs. C. T. Brown of Tampa, Fla.; a number of grandchildren, and two sisters, Miss Carrie Eagan and Mrs. Essie Sutton of Forsythe, Ga. Funeral services were held by Rev. W. F. Howell, pastor of the Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. Lula Wardlow. The violin music was rendered by Mrs. Stanley Hake of Centerville, Miss., accompanied by Mrs. E. C. Erwin. Interment was in the family plot in the old Montgomery Cemetery. Active pallbearers were E. C. Erwin, Jimmy Scruggs, Herschell Hughes, Melvin Hall, Granville Kilpatrick, J. D. Williams, Everett Nelms, and Odell Dean.
