Harlan Dies In Collision James E. Harlan, 28 year old Shreveport farmer, was killed and his traveling comopanion seriously injured in an automobile-bus collision 15 miles east of Shreveport Wednesday. The accident occurred when Harlan's car rammed head-on into a Trailways bus. The car was demolished. The bus ran off the road but did not overturn. Harlan's mother is the former Miss Lela Jenkins, sister of Sion and Mallory Jenkins of Winnfield. He was also the nephew of Mrs. Hugh Mercer, and a cousin of Henry Harlan, and numerous other people in Winn Parish. He is survived by his wife and one child, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Harlan, and a brother, Ray Harlan, all of Shreveport.
