Rare Disease Fatal to Dickie Harrell, 4 Year Old

Funeral services for Richard "Dickie" Harrell., 4 « year old son of Mr. and
Mrs. Pat G. Harrell, were held Monday, June 23, 1952, at 4:30 p.m., following
his death in a New Orleans hospital.

Little Dickie was stricken with purpura, a rare disease of the circulatory
system.  He was treated at a local hospital, and appeared on the road to
recovery when it was necessary to take him to the hospital in New Orleans,
where he died Sunday afternoon.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pat G. Harrell, and his
grandparents, Mrs. Emma Harrell, and Mr. and Mrs. Alon Moss, all of Winnfield.

Funeral services were in the Winnfield First Baptist Church with the pastor,
Dr. W. L. Holcomb, officiating.  Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under
direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Eck Bozeman, C. D. Moss, J. R. Madden, Jr., and W. C. Postle.
