Engineer, Feb. 15 Funeral Services Conducted Saturday at First Baptist Church Eli Harrell, 62 years of age, died at his home here Friday, February 15th, following an illness since last October. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church Saturday afternoon, by the pastor, Dr. B. C. Land, who was assisted by Rev. Alwin Stokes and Rev. O. L. Tukcer, Methodist minister. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery with the local Masons in charge of the services. Pallbearers were E. S. Crowe, S. G. McDaniel, J. W. Crippen, L. C. Carter, Andrew Jenkins, and J. E. Gassiott. Mr. Harrell and his family have been residing in Winnfield for about sixteen years, coming here from Eros, La. He is a native of Arkansas. During his stay here and prior to his coming he was connected with the Tremont and Gulf Railway Company as locomotive engineer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the local Masonic Order. Surviving the deceased is his wife, seven sons, and two daughters: Riffie Harrell, Simsboro; Eli, Paul, Hovy, Patrick, Marvin, and Jimmie, all of Winnfield; Mrs. A. S. Penick of Krotz Springs, La., and Miss Nelda Harrell of Winnfield.
