Funeral Services For James Harris Held October 22

Funeral services were conducted at Hargis Baptist Church for James W. Harris,
88, who died in Pineville, October 22.

Mr. Harris was born in Doson, Ga., June 6, 1864, later coming to Louisiana,
where he spent the rest of his life.  He was a resident of the Wheeling
community at one time, but for a number of years lived in New Orleans.

Rev. Dyess, pastor of the Pentecostal Church, Montgomery, officiated at the
funeral, assisted by Rev. Grafton Shaw, Rev. Huey Bazar, and Rev. Will Taylor. 
Interment was in Hargis Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bob Jackson, Hamilton Lewis, James Beaird, Leo Shaw, Oswald
Teddlie, Ollie Bishop.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bazar, one son, J. C. Harris, of Iran,
Va., 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
