Luther Harkins Rites Were Mon., June 30

Luther Lonnie Harkins, 57, died suddenly at his home, southwest of Winnfield,
Saturday, June 28.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 30, in the chapel of
Southern Funeral Home, Brother Ray Geiger officiating.  Interment was in the
Old Union Baptist Cemetery.

He was a World War II veteran and was a native of Grant Parish.  Mr. Harkins
was a log cutter.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Harkins of Winnfield; one son, Lonnie
Michael Harkins of Winnfield; two daughters, Miss Linda Arlene Harkins and
Miss Earline Harkins, both of Winnfield; his mother, Mrs. Laura Harkins of
Jonesboro and his sister, Mrs. Betty Mae Early of Jonesboro.
