Mrs. Harkins, 56, Buried At Mars Hill On Monday

Mrs. Mamie Beatrice Harkins of Winnfield was buried Monday at 2 p.m. in the
Mars Hill Cemetery.  Mrs. Harkins was 56 years old, and was a member of New
Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Rev. George Foster officiated at the funeral services with burial under the
direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Grant McManus, G. P. McManus, Percy Hallmark, Johnny Carroll,
W. R. Price, and Grady Creel.

Mrs. Harkins is survived by her husband, Mr. J. W. Harksins of Winnfield; two
sons, J. W. Jr., of Fort Worth and Charles of Winnfield.  She leaves two
daughters, Mrs. Marie McManus and Georgia Nell Harkins, both of Winnfield; two
brothers, Charlie Johnston and Clarence Johnston of Joyce; and four sisters,
Mrs. Myrtie Ashford of Eros, Mrs. Lucille Hannan, Mrs. Marguerite Templeton,
and Mrs. Katherine Driscoll, all of Hodge.
