Funeral Held For Mrs. Mae Harper, Of Calvin, Friday

Funeral services were held Friday for Mrs. Mae Cloud Harper, 61, Calvin, at
Sanders Chapel near Calvin, Mrs. Harper's home.  She died Tuesday after an
illness of several days.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. Melvin York, pastor of the Calvin
Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Harper was a member.

Mrs. Harper was born at Campti, La., and the daughter of the late Noah and
Emma Pitts Cloud.  She married J. M. Harper January 6, 1905.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, J. N. Harper of San Diego, Calif.,
E. O. Harper of Richton, Miss., and A. G. Harper of Ferriday; two daughters,
Mrs. L. W. Johnson of Galveston, Texas, and Mrs. Curtis Bishop of Calvin;
three brothers, three sisters, five half sisters, and six grandchildren.
