Harris Dies Of Heart Attack Sun. At Goldonna W. A. Harris, 84, stepfather of Mrs. Edward Howard of Winnfield, died of a heart attack at his home in Goldonna Sunday. Mr. Harris, a native of Claiborne Parish, and brother of the late T. H. Harris, superintendent of education of Louisiana for many years, had spent his entire life in Louisiana, living the greater number of years in Bienville and Natchitoches Parishes. He was an active worker in the Baptist Church of Goldonna, and was noted for his many civic activities in that community, being considered a leader in many enterprises. He was married in his youth to Miss Mollie Ledbetter, of which union six children were born. After her death he married Mrs. Edna Strain Caraway, a widow with three daughters, and five children were born. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Edna Harris; four daughters, Mrs. R. E. Ensley of Goldonna, Mrs. E. C. Oliphant of Shreveport, Miss Vivian Harris and Mrs. Frank Montgomery, also of Goldonna; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Sam Brewton of Goldonna, Mrs. W. E. McFarland of Alexandria, and Mrs. Edward Howard of Winnfield; seven sons, Cecil M. Harris of Mountain Home, Ark., Claude Harris of Cottonport, Walter D. Harris of Goldonna, Homer Harris of Baton Rouge, Erle Harris of New Roads, Ernest Harris of Goldonna, and Austin Harris of Cottonport. He is also survived by 41 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at Goldonna Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Audrey Boswell, pastor, officiating.
