All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: January 19, 1928 Winn Parish Enterprise Mrs. Harrison Dies Following Brief Illness Following a brief illness of pneumonia, Mrs. Sarah Strong Harrison, 55 years old, wife of Dr. Burgess H. Harrison, died at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at her home, 1333 Oakland Street. She was born January 22, 1875 at St. Maurice, La., and besides her husband she is survived by her mother, Mrs. N. E. Strong, Monroe; four children, Mrs. W. E. Glassell, Jr., Belcher; Mrs. William H. Worden, Harlington, Texas; John Bell and Allen Bell, both of Shreveport; two sisters, Miss Lena Strong and Mrs. Theo Tarzia, both of Monroe; two brothers, W. H. Strong, Monroe, and Fred Strong, Beaumont, Texas, and three grandchildren. Mrs. Harrison was a member of the St. Mark's Episcopal Church and has a wide circle of friends. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the St. Mark's Church, with the Rev. James M. Owens officiating. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Harrison was a niece of Mrs. C. H. Sutton, of Winnfield, and the daughter of the late Will A. Strong, who resided here many years ago and published the Winnfield Sentinel (Southern Sentinel).
