Hassell, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Hassell, were held Thursday, May 25, at the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro. Mr. Hassell, a business man of Winnsboro, died Wednesday in a Winnsboro clinic after a 16 month illness. The Rev. C. G. Hall, pastor of the church, who had charge of the services, was assisted by the Rev. Benginton, pastor of the First Methodist Church of that city. Burial was in the new Winnsboro Cemetery. Besides his parents and a brother, of Winnfield, Mr. Hassell is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Hassell, a teacher in the Winnsboro High School; a son, William Doyle, and two brothers, Otis of Winnsboro, and Therrell of Sicily Island. Relatives and friends of Winnfield who attended Mr. Hassell's funeral were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Hassell, and brother, Joe H., and Mrs. Dan Page and Mrs. W. F. DeBusk.
