Hatten, Age 69, is Victim of Heart Attack Last Sunday Mason 36 Years, Missed Only Three Meetings of Lodge J. W. Hatten, age 69, died at his home at Hebron near Sikes Sunday afternoon following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Hebron church and interment was in the church cemetery there. Rev. L. T. Hastings, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Monroe officiated at the church services and concluding services at the grave were marked by Masonic honors. Mr. Hatten was born in Winn Parish and had lived in the Hebron Community practically all his life. He was a Mason of long standing having been a member of Rosemary Lodge No. 278 F. & A. M. for the past 36 years, during which time he had been absent from only three meetings. He is a past master of Rosemary Lodge. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Hatten, three daughters, Mrs. Meredith Huitt, Monroe, Mrs. Ola Simmons, Winnsboro, Miss Vera Hatten, Hebron, five sons, Monroe Hatten, Will Hatten, Chris Hatten, Mike Hatten, and J. Hatten, all of Hebron, three brothers, I. A. Hatten, Winnfield, George Hatten, Hinton, Will Hatten, Sikes, three sisters, Mrs. Mary White, Sikes, Mrs. Nettie Vickers, Jena, and Mrs. L. Harper, Epps.
