W. Hatten, 69 years of age, died at his home in the Hebron Community near Sikes, Sunday at 10 o'clock from a heart attack. Mr. Hatten was born in Winn Parish and was considered one of the progressive farmers of his community. He took an active part in the Masonic Lodge and was past commander of Rosemary Lodge No. 278. Funeral services were conducted at the Hebron Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 under the direction of Walsh's Funeral Home. The Masonic Lodge was in charge of the services. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Margaret Hatten; five sons, Monroe, Will, Chris, Mike, and J. Hatten of Hebron; three daughters, Mrs. Medie Huitt, Monroe, Mrs. Ola Simmons, Winnsboro, and Miss Vera Hatten, Hebron; three brothers, I. A. Hatten, Winnfield, George Hatten, Hinton, Will Hatten, Sikes; and three sisters, Mrs. Nancy White, Mrs. Nettie Vickers, Jena, and Mrs. L. Harper, Epps, La.
