Mr. Hatten was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish, a retired farmer and lumberman, and a member of the Baptist Church. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. J. D. Williamson of Pasadena, Texas; two sons, Elzie Hatten of Memphis, Tenn., and Virgil Hatten of Vermillion, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Hewitt of Monroe, Mrs. Olan Simmons of Swamper, La., and Mrs. Vera Martin of Sikes; four brothers, Chris Hatten of Monroe, Mike Hatten, Monroe Hatten, and J. W. Hatten, all of Sikes, and six grandchildren.
