Born February 26th, 1878, married J. Wiley Hatten, June, 1895, leaves a husband, five children, father and mother, six brothers and three sisters. She was a consistent member of the Baptist church for twenty years; was taken seriously ill August 27th and passed away August 28th, 1910. Dr. Stovall, the family physician, was called at once, but medical aid was too short. The Great Physician above had called the spirit, the life, and mother earth entwined the beloved form to her bosom never to return. She was buried in the Thompson cemetery. Her pleasant face seemed to say: As you are now, so once was I, As I am now, so you must be; Prepare for Death, and follow me. A light is from our household gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our home, That can never be filled. We can not tell who next may fall, Beneath thy chastening rod, One must be first, but let us all Prepare to meet our God. Farewell till we meet again. U. R. MURPHY Additional Comments: Mrs. Hatten is buried in Sharon Cemetery in Sikes, LA.
