Former Winn Resident Dies In Jonesboro

Funeral services for Weylon D. Hawthorne, 67, of Jonesboro were held at 4 p.m.
Saturday in a Jonesboro funeral home chapel with Rev. Elred Blakely
officiating.  Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery near Jonesboro.

Hawthorne died at 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 2, 1968 in a Jonesboro hospital
after a long illness.  He was a retired school teacher and former resident of
Winnfield.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Angie Nell Jones of Quitman; his father, W.
T. Hawthorne of Quitman; a brother, Bart Hawthorne of Shreveport; a sister,
Mrs. Cloy Walsworth of Jonesboro; and two grandchildren.
