Lee Hays, Former Local Resident, Succumbs

Funeral services for Lee Hays, 58, of Shreveport, retired locomotive engineer
of the Louisiana & Arkansas Railway Co., were held Wednesday afternoon at the
Roseneath Funeral Home.  Mr. Hays and his family had resided in Winnfield on
several different occasions and he was well known in this section.

The rites were conducted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes of Winnfield.  Interment was
in the Minden Cemetery.

Surviving the deceased are one son, Sam Hays of Alexandria; one daughter, Mrs.
Jim Scott, Jr., of Winnfield; his widow, Mrs. Hays of Shreveport; and two
brothers of Texas.
