Betty M. Heard

Services for Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Morris Heard of Winnfield, Louisiana were
held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, at First United Methodist Church. 
The Reverend Michael D. McLaurin, pastor, and Dr. Calvin Phelps of First
Baptist Church, officiated.  Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mrs. Heard, 65, died at 2:40 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 1985, at Schumpert
Medical Center in Shreveport after a brief illness.

She was a graduate of Centenary College and a member of the First United
Methodist Church.  Mrs. Heard was preceded in death by her husband, Richard
Cooper Heard, former president of the Bank of Winnfield & Trust Company.

Survivors are three sons, Richard C. "Dicky" Heard, Dr. J. Steven Heard of
Shreveport, and R. Pleasant "Buddy" Heard; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were T. H. Harrel, Sr., L. L. Brewton, Sr., J. G. Russell, Jr., G.
E. Brewton, Don Walsh, Frank Shaw, Dr. E. C. Meyers, K. M. "Mickey" Simmons,
Fred Flurry, Marvin Caraway, T. H. Harrel, Jr., and John G. Jackson.

Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church in Winnfield.
