Heflin Eva M. Heflin died at 6 a.m. Sunday, January 31 at Acadian House Care Center in Baton Rouge, La. She was 85, a native of Winnfield, La., and had resided in Baton Rouge, La., for the past 13 years. Graveside services were held at the Winnfield City Cemetery Tuesday, February 2, conducted by Rev. Michael McLaurin, pastor of First United Methodist Church. She attended public schools in Winnfield and attended L. S. U. where she was affiliated with Kappa Delta. She was a member of the Winnfield Methodist Church and a retired Winn Parish deputy sheriff. Survivors include nieces Mrs. Marshal Ann Bourgeois of Baton Rouge and Mrs. Alton (Lynn) Duvernoy of New Orleans and a nephew, William T. Heflin II of Baton Rouge and a sister in law, Mrs. Herman Heflin.
