Last Rites Held For W. R. Hemphill At Zion June 27

Walter Ray Hemphill, 69, died of a heart attack while driving his car not far
from his home in Beulah-Zion community at 10 a.m. June 26.  He had been in ill
health for some time.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. June 27 at the Zion Church near
Georgetown, with Rev. M. E. Armstrong and Rev. Jess Norris officiating. 
Burial was in the Zion Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral directors.

Pallbearers were Ed Guin, G. B. Guin, I. B. Williams, H. H. Williams, Dewey
Keen, and Wade Kyson.

The deceased is survived by five sons, Alex of Pineville; James T. of
Winnfield; Herman G. of Shreveport; Howard of Tullos; and Pleas of Ball, La.;
and two daughters, Mrs. Frances McCartney of Trout and Mrs. Beulah Mae Wright
of Georgetown.
