Hemphill Dies After Long Illness Funeral services for Howard N. Hemphill, 52, of Winnfield were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Baptist Church near here with the Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. He died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, February 27, 1976 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Georgetown and a veteran of WW II. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Inez Hemphill of Winnfield; two sons, Howard Hemphill of Heighburg, Miss., and Ernest Hemphill of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Janice White and Mrs. Gay Hannegan, both of Winnfield; three brothers, L. P. Hemphill and J. T. Hemphill, both of Winnfield and Herman Hemphill of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Wright of Georgetown and Mrs. Francis Seales of Jena; and four grandchildren.
