Henley, Ward 2 Police Juror Dies Tuesday Morning Burial In Bethel Plot Near Norphlet, Ark., Wednesday Morning Carlos C. Henley, police juror from Ward 2, and oil operator in the Tullos field, died in the Urania clinic Tuesday morning following an illness of several months. In failing health for more than a year his condition did not become acute until about a month ago when he was confined to his bed at home and later transferred to the clinic. Funeral services were held at the family residence in Ward 2 Wednesday morning at ten o'clock after which the body was taken to Norphlet, Ark., for burial in the family cemetery at Bethal in Union County. The Rev. J. O. Jones conducted the rites. He was elected to the Winn Parish (Police) Jury from Ward 2 in 1936 and reelected in 1940. As part of his duties as police juror he was a member of the Winn Parish Library Board. The deceased is a member of the Lewis Chapel Methodist Church near Pleasant Hill and served as steward in the church organization. He held membership in the Charles F. Buck Masonic Lodge No. 260, F. & A. M. at Urania. Born in Union County, Arkansas July 22, 1899, he grew to manhood in his native community and moved to Louisiana in 1925, and to Ward 2, Winn Parish, in 1931. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lovie Cameron Henley and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. O. W. Holmes, Olla, Mrs. Morris McCartney, Tullos, Helen, C. C. Jr., Paul, Virginia, John and Richard Earl, all of Winn Parish. He also leaves four grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. O. Henley of Norphlet, Ark.; and Rex Henley of Norphlet, and three sisters, Mrs. Edna Jameson, Arkadelphia, Ark., Mrs. Ray Duplissy of Texas, and Miss Linnie Henley of Norphlet, Ark.
