Henderson Succumbs Late Thursday Eve Had Lived Here For Quarter of a Century Emery L. Henderson, 69 years of age, died at his home in Winnfield late Thursday afternoon, September 11, as the result of a stroke. Funeral arrangements had not been made Thursday night but it was understood that they would be held at the Presbyterian Church here with Rev. Alwin Stokes in charge as soon as Mr. Henderson's sons and daughters arrive. Mr. Henderson had lived in Winnfield for a quarter of a century and for many years he was employed by the Tremont & Gulf Railroad as roadmaster. He was the owner and manager of several stores operated in LaSalle Parish several years ago. Mr. Henderson was born June 10, 1872 in Indiana and was reared and educated there. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Henderson of Indiana. Surviving are his wife who resides in Winnfield; seven sons, Bill, Jack, Kendall, Merle, of Winnfield; Earl, Brooklyn, N. Y.; Paul, Houston, Texas; and Nell, Anderson, Indiana; and two daughters, Peggy, Winnfield, and Maud, of Anderson, Indiana.
