Rites For Hit, Run Victim Held April 1

Newton Hershel Henderson, Jr., 22, of Pride, Louisiana, and husband of the
former Margaret Ann Box of Dodson, was struck by a car while riding a
motorcycle March 27 at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was stationed with the
United States Army.  A victim of a hit and run accident, he died two days
later in Martin Army Hospital at Fort Benning.

Funeral services were held at Zachary Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday,
April 1.  Burial with military rites was held at Azalea Rest Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Ann B. Henderson of Dodson, a
daughter, Deanne Henderson, his parents and one brother of Pride, La.

He was a graduate of Pride High School and of Louisiana Tech.  He was teaching
at Lake Providence High School when drafted into the Army.
