Last Rites For Mrs. A. B. Hughes

Funeral services for Mrs. A. B. Hughes, 67, of Montgomery, who died in an
Alexandria hospital after a lengthy illness, were held Wednesday at the
Montgomery Baptist Church, with the Rev. Turner Davis in charge.  He was
assisted by Dr. W. L. Holcomb and Rev. E. P. Hughes.  Burial was in the Sardis
Cemetery.

Mrs. Hughes, a native of Winn Parish, was the former Miss Shelton.  She has
been a resident of Montgomery for about 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, three sons, James of Alexandria, Lantria B. of
Montgomery, and Melvin of Denham Springs; one brother, Riley Shelton of
Charlotte, S. C., five sisters, Mrs. Olive Eagles, Mrs. Hasson Morris, Mrs.
Clarence Mixon, Mrs. Elizabeth Barton, all of Winnfield, and Mrs. Amy Kees of
Manifest; and three grandchildren.
