Mrs. Hicks Expires at Tannehill; Burial in Mt. Zion Dec. 6

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Hicks, 84, who died at Tannehill Dec. 5
following a lengthy illness, were conducted Dec. 8 at the Church of Christ in
Winnfield with Aubrey Miller, minister, officiating.  Interment was in the
Mt. Zion Cemetery near Coushatta under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Born in Mobile, Ala., the deceased was reared and educated at Ringgold, La.,
and was married in 1879.  She was a member of the Church of Christ here.

Surviving are four children, J. E. Hicks of Tannehill, J. B. Hicks, Houston,
Texas, Mrs. J. O. Thomas, Overton, Texas, and Mrs. B. F. Provence, Winnfield;
two half brothers, Kader Gardner and Charlie Gardner of Ringgold; one half
sister, Mrs. J. B. Poland of Arcadia; and a number of grandchildren and great
grandchildren.  Six of her children, three daughters and three sons, are
deceased.

She had been making her home with her son, J. E. Hicks, Tannehill, prior to
her death.
