J. C. Hickman Expires; Burial At New Salem

John Charles Hickman, 82, of Montgomery, died Sunday, December 5, 1971 in the
Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church
in Montgomery with Rev. Otis Dumas officiating, assisted by Rev. Roy Moore.
Burial was in the New Salem Cemetery directed by the Southern Funeral Home of
Winnfield.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Vera Hickman of Verda; a sister, Mrs. Cuma
Barnes of Winnfield; two stepsons, R. D. Bolin of New York and Roy Spikes of
Montgomery; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Laverne Otte of San Antonio, Texas; and
several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
