Mar. 7 Funeral services for Miss Winnie Hicks, 70, who died at a local hospital March 6, were held at the First Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, with Dr. W. L. Holcomb, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Louis Sholars, Harper Terrill, Bluch Haddox, Joe Bevill, O. Trahan. For many years Miss Hicks had made her home with Mrs. R. W. Tugwell of Winnfield as a companion. She had been in ill health for some time. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in church work. The deceased is survived by one uncle, R. J. McInnis of Silsbee, Texas, who attended the funeral here. Also attending the last rites was State Treasurer Pat Tugwell of Baton Rouge.
