Hightower, 71, of Ruston, died Sunday, March 20, 1966 at Lincoln General Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Lincoln Parish, a member of Temple Baptist Church in Ruston, and was a radio operator for the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office until his retirement about a year ago. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Spears Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert S. Magee, H. B. Fuller, and A.H. Johnson officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Beulah Hightower of Ruston, his mother, Mrs. R. R. Hightower of Ruston who is 96 years old, two sons, J. T. Hightower and Bud Hightower, both of Ruston; three brothers, Fred Hightower of Monroe, Kenny Hightower of Dodson, and Jack Hightower of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Jack Higgenbotham of Ruston, Mrs. Red Swanson of Monroe, and Mrs. Ellis White of Ringgold; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
