Three of their five children were hospitalized. Killed were Mrs. Margie Womack Hicks and her husband David. They had been visiting her parents, the Walter Womacks, Natchitoches Highway, and left Aug. 24 at 4 p.m. returning home to McDonald, Ga. Their car had crossed a narrow bridge when it met a tractor and semi-trailer which was coming onto the bridge. The vehicles side-swiped, overturning, Mr. and Mrs. Hicks were killed instantly. Two of their children, ages 15 and 17, had remained home and were not involved in the accident. The children hospitalized were 13, 12, and 10 years old. The accident happened about 130 miles from the couple's home. Other survivors include Mrs. Hicks' brothers, Ray Womack, Shreveport, E. C. Womack, Jordan Hill; a sister, Mrs. Carl Jordan, Jordan Hill, and Mrs. Josepine Carter, Olla. Funeral services were held at McDonald, Ga.
