Hinton Succumbs; Rites Held Saturday John G. Hinton, 68, of Winnfield, died Friday, January 16, 1970 in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Hinton was a native of Winn Parish, a member of the Midway Baptist Church, and a retired sawmill worker. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Smithart officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Brown and Rev. W. C. Bounds. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Survivors are his wife; two sons, J. P. Hinton and James Hinton, both of Winnfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Stringer and Mrs. Eola McNeely of Jena. Pallbearers were Eddie Powell, Lavaughn Williams, Charles Dow, Troy Smith, Oliver Guilliams, and L. L. Brewton, Sr.
