Obituary of Dave M. Hobdy (from the Winn Parish Enterprise, August 30, 1956)


Dave M. Hobdy

Dave M. Hobdy, (colored), 95 year-old life-long resident of Winn Parish, died
of a heart attack at his home on Winnfield, Rt. 3, Saturday.  He was a member
of the Baptist Church and was a Mason.

Funeral services were held at Union Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. B. F.
Vernon and Rev. J. W. Booker officiating.

Survivors include his children, John D. Hobdy, Ford Hobdy, Rawson Hobdy, Mable
Riser, all of Winnfield; Cass Hobdy, Houston, Texas; Morgan Hobdy, Shreveport;
Ruby Smith, Jonesboro; Sgt. George C. Hobdy, Riverside, Calif.; 23
grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
